asus 10.1 tablet case

i ordered for my asus tablet a leather casewhich claims to be ultra thin. it took a while to arrive, and while it wasin transit i had to protect the device from dirt with the transportation filmthe device is wrapped in on purchase. the looks were awful.so, the case finally arrived so lets unpack it. it is really very thin andsimultaneously quite hard. it has a pleasantly soft surface and the lid hasmagnetic holders and can be folded to form an angle.lets try putting it on. and here comes the first peculiarity - the casecovers the connector, which is a good thing from dust protection point ofview, but may be a nuisance if you like to

charge your devices withoutopening the case. the skin also has a hard frame, and you can use it to holdthe handmade screen protector i was talking about in one of my previous videos.to do it, take a clear paper folder or any other hard yet clear enough filmand cut it to fit the screen size. now insert it between the device and thecase. the frame with securely hold the protector in place so you don't have touse any adhesive. a screen shield like this is not only completely bubblesfree, but is also easily removable for cleaning with zero risk of gettingwater on to the tablet. lets check that the case is not an obstaclefor cable connections. phone

jack and dock connector are easily accessible,as well as the memory card slot. other holes like camera, flash and onboardspeaker grill are also well-cut and match the ones on the device itself. onthe whole, i'm quite happy with the purchase.

asus 10.1 t100

hello everyone! this is the asus transformer book t100 what's cool about this one, is that is has an intel atom processor, and a full version of windows 8.1 installed although my preferred operating system is linux, i think that windows offers some advantages on this type of machine. today i won't do a review, but i'll look at how windows works on this type of machine, with touch screen and everthing. here we have the transformer book docked in it's keyboard dock. it's like a computer now and the touch screen really works great in the modern ui. when i'm working in the modern ui, i prefer to use the touch screen, but as soon as i get into the desktop i prefer to use the mouse instead, as it gives extra precision. one thing i was curious about before i got to try it out, was how firefox works with a touch screen.

i will show you that now. let's go to wikipedia firefox won't work like internet explorer or any browser you are used to on a tablet, when you pinch-zoom, it will just enlarge the text, and it won't zoom in on the page. if we instead go to the touch-friendly modern ui version of firefox, we'll see that the zoom works in another way. when i pinch-zoom, it will just zoom in instead of enlarging the text. another thing we can have a look at, is how changing the volume works on a touch-screen if i start some music, the most obvious way to change the volume is with this little slider. but, it's quite hard to get it to work, as if you don't hit the slider perfectly, it will just jump around you have to put your finger in exact the right position to get it to work.

there's a easier and more touch-friendly way in the settings-menu, and this slider will work much better with the touch-screen. copy-pasting also works quite well on the touch screen.all you have to do is drag your finger across the text, then press and hold to get up the right-click menu and press copy. go to the other window, hold, and click paste. you can also bring up the keyboard, and press ctrl+v if you want to maximize your screen's real-estate, you can use the smaller taskbar buttons. if you want even more real-estate, you can auto-hide the taskbar. but that does not work so well, as you can't swipe from the bottom, you have to swipe from the top. then, if you want to bring up the keyboard you lose focus so you can't enter an url. if we take a look at the power-settings, you'll see that the only setting here is when to put the tablet to sleep.

there's no way to set when to turn off the display, and that is because of something called connected standby. in order to demonstrate connected standby, i'll open up the tunein app and start playing a radio station. with the radio station in the modern ui playing, i'll open up firefox in the desktop and start another music video. now we have two pieces of music playing at the same time, and when i put the computer to sleep... ...you will hear that there's only the modern ui radio station playing. if i unlock the tablet, you'll hear that the youtube music video is now playing again. if you're downloading a file and the computer goes to sleep, then your download will stop however, that can be solved by going into the settings of most torrenting programs and check the "inhibit system sleep while torrents are active". if you're wondering how to get to the bios on this type of machine, many people say that the way is to go through the update and recovery

and use the advanced startup from there. using that method you can get into the bios, but it is also possible go get into the bios directly when booting the computer. all you have to do is to press down the volume-down button while powering on the tablet, and you'll see this boot manager. if you don't have a keyboard, you can use the volume buttons to navigate. with the volume-up button you can go through the menus, and the volume-down button enters a menu. if you then want to install linux, secure boot can be a obstacle for that. it's not too hard to disable it. after you have disabled secure boot, your computer will show the message "preparing bitlocker revovery", and show a blue screen asking you to enter your bitlocker recovery key. this recovery key you can find either in the control panel, or online if you log into your microsoft account.

after you have entered the key, it's stored so you won't have to enter it again. there i showed you a little how windows 8 works on a tablet with a touch-screen. i hope you enjoyed this video, and if you are interested please check out my other videos as well. have a great day!

asus 10.1 review

what's up guys lew here back with another video and as you can tell, today something special is happening, i am not in my normal studio environment that's because i'm in paris. today i'm checking out the 'worlds thinnest laptop' what!? this is from hp, it's called the spectre and it is... thinner than a pen, thinner than this pen 10.4 mm (millimeters) thin. let's jump inside the box and see what it's all about

ok, as you guys can tell that is... that is crazy thin. your probably wondering like 'ok it's thin, am i giving something up, what am i giving up in exchange for ultra portability actually in this case not a ton if you look around the device you'll notice you've got 3 usb c's on the back this one is going to be used to power up the device as well unlike some other ultra thin laptops on the market

your not giving up connectivity there with multiple ports and then you've also got a headphone jack in this location on the back now, if you've got a bunch of older usb equipment and you need to have the traditional connector you have an adaptor included as well, that's simple stuff let's go ahead and test that out and then boom. here's the power brick, it's fairly portable again what about the specs?

you're going to be able to configure this guy with either a core i5 or a core i7 processor it's not underpowered. one of my favourite things is this hinge design here as you can tell, it's super smooth but very unusual. because it's using some piston technology in underneath the hood there. completely new hp logo

ultra modern to go with the kind of ultra modern vibe. you've got this copper along the bottom the top of this laptop is aluminum but then but then the bottom side is actually carbon fiber you guys know i'm a huge fan of carbon fiber whenever it can be used you'll notice the way these feet sit it actually keeps the the bottom of the laptop up off the surface it's on a little bit

thats going to help with cooling. you can also see this unique layout for the grills where the fan is this guy comes in at 2.55 pounds you are hardly going to notice that. now the audio on this device is by bang and olufsen with hp audio boost you can see the speaker grills there i like what they've done, just to add a little bit of interest

a little bit of uniqueness the keyboard is very low profile, a chiclet style keyboard it also has a backlight on it so if you're working in bed late at night and so on, you want to keep the lights dim maybe your trying to set the mood there's also a dedicated button for aeroplane mode and then of course the display it is ips technology

what you'll notice is as i sort of twist the display a little bit you're getting no colour shift in the image video. can it it play video? yes, of course. look at this "another video" here you go jack "do i still have to do the 'what's up guys' thing?" 1080p, full hd display and 13.3" (inches) diagonally now the display is actually covered in gorilla glass rather than the standard stuff

thats going to give you some extra durability characteristics that i'm sure you're aware of. you can also spec it out with an ssd up to 512gb this model i'm looking at here has 8gb of ram as well you've essentially got your traditional laptop specs just jammed into a much thinner profile. how thin? this pen is actually thicker than the entire device it's the same thickness the entire way now, when it comes to battery life your going to be looking at roughly all day

or hp is claiming 8+ hours so there you have it guys, the new hp spectre the 'worlds thinnest laptop' you are now aware of it, this thing is launching very soon it's really a unique design, i'm a fan of it. big thanks to hp for inviting me out here to paris to check out their latest and greatest thank you very much for watching guys and i'll catch you on the next episode

asus 10.1 netbook

in this video i'm going to an unboxingof the asus transformer book t-100 those runs and atom processor but it's the new bay trail atomprocessor and i'm really anxious to get my handson it so let's get to it a the now before i get into this-- i want togo off on a slight tangent i used to refer to the company thatmakes this as seuss then they came out with the videodefining how to pronounce your name and they wentwith a sis

since then i've heard people from thatcompany refer to it as seuss again so i'm gonna stick with seuss i know some people refer to it asa sis so potato frittata actually the name of thecompany comes from the word pegasus so technically will be asus but no onecalls it that so enough with that tangent let's get tothe business at hand here because i'm anxious to get this thing open now in my last video you saw that i dida look back on the windows surface rt tablet and iactually sold that device on the bay so

i no longer have it so this is my next great hope forwindows device for at least a windows tablet device theasus transformer book t-100 ta dash see one that dash gr which isthe actual name of it we'll just stick withpt100 not to be confused with the terminatort-1000 anyway this device runs an intel atomquad-core processor which is actually a bay trail processorso those are the newest atom processors on the market now i'veactually owned

to adam powered devices in the past andthey left a lot to be desired i had any pc and most recently i had adell inspiron duo now my year has been a very busy yearand i haven't published a lot of my videos that dell inspiron duo is one of thevideos or series of videos that i never published but i will publish it when time permitsin short that device was a disaster it was wayunderpowered i love the form factor of it with thescreen actually somersaults within

the basil but after having that device iswore off atom processors but i was lowered back by this device because the bay trailatom processors are supposedly so much more usable than theirpredecessors this tablets: slash netbook has 2 gigabytesof ddr3 memory it has 64 gigabytes have solid statestorage on it you can get supposedly a 32 gigabyteversion but i haven't seen that availableanywhere it has a ten-point one inch screen

and the kicker is is that has supposedly11 hours of battery life so i have highhopes for this device now i got it from amazonfor about three hundred and fifty dollars shipped now this device goes for $399 dollars unfortunately amazon is sold out but if you look on amazon page there's athird party selling this device for 439 dollars right now so somebody's trying to make a little extramoney during shortage here

now this device came out on october 18 today is october 28 so i gotta about tendays later i actually pre-ordered it but i pre-ordered it late so the stock was gobbled up by thepeople who had actually gotten there first but i was fortunateenough to actually get this device so anyway the msrp on this is 399dollars again i gotta for 349 dollars onlybecause i got an amazon credit card and theyactually gave me fifty dollars for just signing up for

so that's a great deal so i think i vhammered on enough let's open a sling up may grab my trustycar here that my cat dropped let's get this thing opennow normally amazon ships to me locally on the eastcoast united states but since there is a shortage on thisthey had the fed ex this from california the alright skits paper full of box so this is actually back ina box it says seuss industry's most complete carepackage you get one year international

warranty 0 bright dot guarantee so no dead pixels two-way free standard shipping and 24hours a day seven days a week technical support so stuff right here seuss transformerbook t-100 now if you're familiar withseuss's transformer line you know that it'sbasically a tablet device that clicks into a keyboard dock iactually did a full review and unboxing on the a sissy pad transformer primewhich was

a an android tablet and it was a greatdevice but this one is actually a windowsdevice obviously as you can see here has windows 8.1 so let's get this thing open here graham color again break the seal books open this up for the first time so here we go the main event here the aces transformerbook again intel quad core processoratom-based bay trail

it has an ips screen so you have 178degree viewing angles honest it has a usb 3.0 port on it again hasthat detachable i'll keyboard to it all-day battery lifesupposedly 11 hours which is really cool and it ships with office microsoftoffice home and student 2013 was for that to the side and take a look at the doc itself now this is very similar to the he padtransformer book doc in the way it looks the onlydifference is that this device here is it doesn't have a battery in it it'sjust a keyboard

and then i guess there's a usb port onhere as well on the side but we'll get to that second was putthat to the side and we'll see what else is in the box here we've got some documentation and then and office license product key which ican show you but it's there here is a usb cord here and here's is the wall clock here it's got your 6 branding their 3 plugin the usb typical wall plug

and i think that's pretty much it that'severything in the box so let's start with keyboard here let'sget this plastic of here and try and do it police destructivewhere possibly can because this will find its way on mebaby one day prolly not today or tomorrow maybe nextyear maybe the year after depends how muchlike it anyway the first thing is the feel of it you have a texture on the front sortalike a brushed aluminum texture i believe everything is plastic thoughyou have

hdmi bringing over here you have intelinside branding and of course your energy star branding as well you track down here which is clickableat the bottom your to areas down here we have a rightto left mouse click you have a little bit over rubber bumperthere so when you close a device unitedscratching you also have an sides here two little ones there and then you have your keyboard here wasfeeling it feels to type on it not so bad the keysare

small in height and as i can see here the shift key is pretty small andgenerally i hate small shift keys but we'll seehow that works in practice when i use skype saidu touch type basically a never look at thekeyboard when i hit the shift key sometimes a hit the up air okay but we'll see howthat works out again in practice again like i said looks like it's on allplastic construction it is a so that the gun metal gray again withyour brushed aluminum

texture here you can actually feel it okhere is the mechanism were the tablet actually hooks in you have to guide areas there and thenthe actual dock connector there this one here is torelease the tablet now again this keyboard doesnot have a battery in it just keyboard and a usb poor here which is here usb 3.0 port here other than that there's nothing on theleft nothing on front nothing on the rates and the back ofcourse you have here

hinge mechanism here on the bottom ofthe device it's sort of a hour somewhat overrubberized feel to it your windows a branding their and thenyou have your for river ice he very simple next up we have the tabletitself so let's get this out of the plastichere okay so here's the device itself looksreally nice you have your pursues branding up here you have a 1.2megapixel webcam here it's only for facing thereis no rear-facing camera on this device now this is a tener .1 inch ips panel

the resolution is 1366 by 768 again it runs windows 8.1 and has to delight so ddr3 memory nose is a fall windows devices is not a windows rtdevice there's an x86 processor in here just incase you're not familiar with what an atom processor is you get a 64 gigabytes internal storage and then pursues offers web storage andremember exactly how much that is but they do offer free storage with thepurchase this device

it supports 802 dodi levin a g and an wifi and it has bluetooth 4.0 it as a 31 what hour battery againsupposedly up to 11 hours and this tablet weighs 1.2 pounds with the doc it weighs 2.4 pounds the dimensions are ten-pointfour-inches' by 6.7 inches and the thickness is point 93 inches so if i had to i could palmthis device easily it's a good size if you watch myprevious video on the windows surface rt

tablet i did say that working on that deviceover long periods of time would be cramped some going to expectthe same out at this device the only difference is i'm gonna expectthis device to be much more responsive and it has forwindows on it and of course that's a plus because youcan run olive your legacy ap sign so let's take a quick tour around thisdevice as you saw the front at for a nice will fire it up in a secondon the bottom is basically just your connection

area here see every dock connector theiryou have your to guiding points there and that's wherethe base actually locks into the tablet here on the right side you see that you haveyour headphone jack you have a micro hdmi and micro usb port you also have a micro sd card slot inthere our top there's nothing ashes a mic uphere i take that back is mike there and thenit looks like there's a power button up here with an led light

next to it on the left to the device you have what looks like a lock buttonof some sort and man you up and down volume rocker the back in the device is very glossy and you have your asus branding here andi don't know if you can make it out but it is a very metallic looking back and if you look close enough you can seethe concentric circles which has become masseuses trademark onthe back to their devices they also have a sticker down here forsec information

and the back feels feels like plastic as you expect and then on the back hereyou have growth you can see that but there's 1xstereo speaker and here's the other stereo speaker so it'll be interesting to see how loudthis device gets now of course you can use this device asyou wish is a tablet and then if you want to use the keyboard the doc or even use the usb 3.0 port this docket right in here

mary yeah locked in a course that buttonworley said and then close it down and it looks like a netbook and that'swhat looks like from the side once clamshell with the keyboard dock connected so it's ok this thing up and interestingly when you do open thedevice on the hinge which has doesn't have anyrubber ice heat on it but it does have this law

feet areas here it actually moves a keyword up a little bit sarcasmor slant and this by the way is as open as thevice gets which should be sufficient are as youcan see the device did not come with the charge on it so i'm charging it up rightnow through the micro usb port that's amicro usb 2.0 port now just a quick correction before youfire the sub this is the power button up top butbelow the volume rocker is actually a windows key it's not a lock it's awindows key

are you also have a here on the keyboardcourse you always have a windows key on a windows desktop or laptop so thatwe can get your start menu as well so anyway or loss center here because mycourt isn't reaching too far but let's hope that it has another the charge thati can fire the sup so see what it looks like for the veryfirst time there we go its the the by

asus 10.1 memo pad

let's try to install nvflash on an asus transformerpad. nvflash is a special bootloader, which protects that very bootloaderfrom firmware flash accidents, which may turn you tablet to a brick. a brickis a situation when you can't restore you device anymore, essentially turningyour pad to an expensive piece of silicon.a common trait of all hacker solutions, the instructions are minimal andrequire the user to know a lot. if you don't, you'll have to spend manyhours online trying to gather information piece by piece.so, what will you need? first, enable usb debugging on your tablet.next, use the official asus utility to unlock

your bootloader, which i describedin another video. it's worth mentioning, that even this is official utility,it voids your warranty. it is considered that you can't lock your bootloaderagain, however, some forum posts say it's tricky but possible.you also need special usb drivers, download them.get nvflash on the same page. you will also require a mysterious fastboot.it turns out this is a part of android sdk, but if you don't want to downloadthe whole package, just get fastboot separately.so you have four folders: drivers, fastboot, nvflash and wheelie.for convenience, put files from the latter

free into a single location.now turn off your tablet, then power it on again, holding volume down button.in the left upper corner checking for rck image will appear, and then 3 icons in themiddle of the screen. using volume down, select the usb icon, and then pressvolume up to confirm. you're now in fastboot mode.windows doesn't have drivers for this mode of course, so go to device managerand manually point it to the path where you extracted the downloaded drivers.now a fastboot device should appear in the device manager.so, now open command prompt in the folder where we merged three folders together, and enter the following command:

fastboot -i 0x0b05 flash staging ebtblob.binonly to get signature mistmatch error. it turns out there was an update from asus, which did not install jelly bean, while adding signature check to the bootloader.that 4.0.3 firmware version 9.4.5.30 . in other words, this version introducedsignature check: from now on, to update you bootloader the update filemust be signed by asus. that's exactly the same way game console manufacturersprevent users from running unsigned, homebrew applications. needlessto say, the custom bootloader we're trying to flash is not signed by asus.neither are previous official firmwares prior to version .30 , since signaturecheck was introduced in

this version only. that's why you can't downgradeto an earlier bootloader. deadend.so, on one hand, asus officialy issues a way to unlock your bootloader, like, guys do whatever you want, but this void you waranty, which is somewhatfair. on the other hand, asus releases a software update effectivly blockingall non-asus bootloaders from installation. so, by unlocking your device, you've lost you warranty and gained nothing, since it is still locked toasus-only software. so basically asus is heading full speed the way alreadypioneered by apple, sony and other copyrasts. that's sad and indescent.so, what to do now? well, let's at least install

jelly bean. since we unlockedour device and ota updates are not available for us anymore, we'll have to flashcomplete image, which is even better in the long run.you may flash it with fastboot, but's its much easier to flash from a microsdmemory card. first, download the update from asus website.it's a archive, which has another archive inside, which has blob andmetadata. unpack it only once, leaving the second archiveinside untouched. copy it as a zip to the root of the memory card, poweroff the tablet, insert the card and power on the device. now select updatefrom the notifications list and

confirm it. updating will take about 5 minutes.a quick check - the update was a success. if you got problems with keeping root, addclockworkmod recovery to the fastboot folder, copy supersu to you device, flash clockworkmod recovery and use it to install supersu.if you've lost flash, just get it from adobe website and install as a package.

asus 10.1 laptop

this is a review of the ultra-compact aceraspire switch 10 convertible 2 in 1 laptop. the switch 10 comes with either 32gb or 64gbinternal hard drives along with 2gb of ram. the size is very portable and as you'll seelater, it has a lot to offer if you're a student or traveler. the switch 10 is great for achild's first laptop or even a secondary laptop. the screen is 10.1 inches with 1366x768 pixelsand features a 1080p front facing camera. the keyboard features a touchpad like you'dsee on all current laptops and the keyboard has chicklet style keys. it's a little crampedbecause of the size but for small hands, it works great. on the front there are 2 speakersthat face the keyboard. these speakers sound ok but you should be prepared to use headphonesor an external speaker for better sound. on

the left side of the screen there's a headphoneport, power switch and volume buttons. on the right side of the screen there's an acpower input, micro hdmi and usb inputs, a micro sd card reader and built-in microphone.on the right side of the keyboard, you have a single full sized usb port which could bea problem if you have lots of accessories to plug in. opening the laptop requires twohands since it's pretty tight when folded. when the screen is up, the back of it raisesthe keyboard at a slight angle for more comfort while typing. the beauty of this laptop isthe ability to easily separate the keyboard from the screen. you just have to grab thescreen and lift if off. the switch 10 uses strong magnets inside these 2 tabs to holdthe screen and keyboard together. in the center

here is the data connection for the keyboard.the nice thing is that when the 2 parts are together, it feels like a laptop and completelyintegrated into the design. ok so here's what the tablet looks like on its own. this partworks just like a windows tablet and the 10-inch touch screen is big enough to make surfingthe web easy. on the bottom you can see the slots for the keyboard dock and the keyboardconnection pins. the tablet also has a windows button on the bottom to switch from desktopto icon mode. the screen can also go from landscape to portrait mode just like any othertablet. although it's a little slow to make the transition sometimes and it isn't smoothlike it is on an ipad. all the computer components are inside the screen and you can easily connectthis to a hdtv to watch videos with. you can

also use a micro sd card for more storage.there are also different configurations of the screen. here i can flip the screen aroundand put it in tent mode for watching movies. or if you flip it around like this, acer callsthis the display mode. and of course you can remove the screen altogether and go to tabletmode. to help you get an idea of the thickness of the switch 10 i'll need the help of somecoins. here in laptop mode, the switch 10 is 13 quarters high. looking at the tabletalone, it is only 6 quarters high. to compare the size here is a 15 inch acer aspire v5,next is a 13 inch macbook pro. and here is the switch 10 in comparision. to make theswitch 10 more useful, i bought a usb multiport hub and mouse to go with it. i also got thissmall case logic carrier which fits and protects

the switch 10 on the go. the acer aspire switch10 is an excellent portable laptop. it is highly capable but i think it is better suitedfor a child's first laptop or as a travel laptop. the keyboard is small but perfectfor smaller hands. as a laptop, the whole unit feels solidly built and not flimsy. whenin use, it sits firmly on a table and doesn't move around. the best feature of the switch10 is the ability to remove the screen and use it as a tablet. i feel this is truly a2-in-one convertible laptop because it feels like a laptop when the keyboard is attachedand it can stand alone as an excellent tablet. detaching and reattaching the screen is extremelyeasy because all you have to do is lift it off and drop it back into place. there areno sliding latches to deal with like on some

convertible laptops. at around $300, it'spriced very competitively with other laptops and standalone tablets. one last thing, inoticed that the 32gb version comes with microsoft office home and student version that doesn'trequire a subscription. so that was a nice bonus. the 64gb version comes with a one yearsubscription to office 365. overall i have been very happy with this purchase. i hopeyou found this video helpful, please give me a thumbs up and don't forget to subscribefor more product reviews and how to videos.

asus 10.1 inch tablet case

i ordered for my asus tablet a leather casewhich claims to be ultra thin. it took a while to arrive, and while it wasin transit i had to protect the device from dirt with the transportation filmthe device is wrapped in on purchase. the looks were awful.so, the case finally arrived so lets unpack it. it is really very thin andsimultaneously quite hard. it has a pleasantly soft surface and the lid hasmagnetic holders and can be folded to form an angle.lets try putting it on. and here comes the first peculiarity - the casecovers the connector, which is a good thing from dust protection point ofview, but may be a nuisance if you like to

charge your devices withoutopening the case. the skin also has a hard frame, and you can use it to holdthe handmade screen protector i was talking about in one of my previous videos.to do it, take a clear paper folder or any other hard yet clear enough filmand cut it to fit the screen size. now insert it between the device and thecase. the frame with securely hold the protector in place so you don't have touse any adhesive. a screen shield like this is not only completely bubblesfree, but is also easily removable for cleaning with zero risk of gettingwater on to the tablet. lets check that the case is not an obstaclefor cable connections. phone

jack and dock connector are easily accessible,as well as the memory card slot. other holes like camera, flash and onboardspeaker grill are also well-cut and match the ones on the device itself. onthe whole, i'm quite happy with the purchase.

asus 10.1 case

what's up guys lew here back with another video and as you can tell, today something special is happening, i am not in my normal studio environment that's because i'm in paris. today i'm checking out the 'worlds thinnest laptop' what!? this is from hp, it's called the spectre and it is... thinner than a pen, thinner than this pen 10.4 mm (millimeters) thin. let's jump inside the box and see what it's all about

ok, as you guys can tell that is... that is crazy thin. your probably wondering like 'ok it's thin, am i giving something up, what am i giving up in exchange for ultra portability actually in this case not a ton if you look around the device you'll notice you've got 3 usb c's on the back this one is going to be used to power up the device as well unlike some other ultra thin laptops on the market

your not giving up connectivity there with multiple ports and then you've also got a headphone jack in this location on the back now, if you've got a bunch of older usb equipment and you need to have the traditional connector you have an adaptor included as well, that's simple stuff let's go ahead and test that out and then boom. here's the power brick, it's fairly portable again what about the specs?

you're going to be able to configure this guy with either a core i5 or a core i7 processor it's not underpowered. one of my favourite things is this hinge design here as you can tell, it's super smooth but very unusual. because it's using some piston technology in underneath the hood there. completely new hp logo

ultra modern to go with the kind of ultra modern vibe. you've got this copper along the bottom the top of this laptop is aluminum but then but then the bottom side is actually carbon fiber you guys know i'm a huge fan of carbon fiber whenever it can be used you'll notice the way these feet sit it actually keeps the the bottom of the laptop up off the surface it's on a little bit

thats going to help with cooling. you can also see this unique layout for the grills where the fan is this guy comes in at 2.55 pounds you are hardly going to notice that. now the audio on this device is by bang and olufsen with hp audio boost you can see the speaker grills there i like what they've done, just to add a little bit of interest

a little bit of uniqueness the keyboard is very low profile, a chiclet style keyboard it also has a backlight on it so if you're working in bed late at night and so on, you want to keep the lights dim maybe your trying to set the mood there's also a dedicated button for aeroplane mode and then of course the display it is ips technology

what you'll notice is as i sort of twist the display a little bit you're getting no colour shift in the image video. can it it play video? yes, of course. look at this "another video" here you go jack "do i still have to do the 'what's up guys' thing?" 1080p, full hd display and 13.3" (inches) diagonally now the display is actually covered in gorilla glass rather than the standard stuff

thats going to give you some extra durability characteristics that i'm sure you're aware of. you can also spec it out with an ssd up to 512gb this model i'm looking at here has 8gb of ram as well you've essentially got your traditional laptop specs just jammed into a much thinner profile. how thin? this pen is actually thicker than the entire device it's the same thickness the entire way now, when it comes to battery life your going to be looking at roughly all day

or hp is claiming 8+ hours so there you have it guys, the new hp spectre the 'worlds thinnest laptop' you are now aware of it, this thing is launching very soon it's really a unique design, i'm a fan of it. big thanks to hp for inviting me out here to paris to check out their latest and greatest thank you very much for watching guys and i'll catch you on the next episode

later

asus 10.1 32gb transformer book t100

in this video i'm going to an unboxingof the asus transformer book t-100 those runs and atom processor but it's the new bay trail atomprocessor and i'm really anxious to get my handson it so let's get to it a the now before i get into this-- i want togo off on a slight tangent i used to refer to the company thatmakes this as seuss then they came out with the videodefining how to pronounce your name and they wentwith a sis

since then i've heard people from thatcompany refer to it as seuss again so i'm gonna stick with seuss i know some people refer to it asa sis so potato frittata actually the name of thecompany comes from the word pegasus so technically will be asus but no onecalls it that so enough with that tangent let's get tothe business at hand here because i'm anxious to get this thing open now in my last video you saw that i dida look back on the windows surface rt tablet and iactually sold that device on the bay so

i no longer have it so this is my next great hope forwindows device for at least a windows tablet device theasus transformer book t-100 ta dash see one that dash gr which isthe actual name of it we'll just stick withpt100 not to be confused with the terminatort-1000 anyway this device runs an intel atomquad-core processor which is actually a bay trail processorso those are the newest atom processors on the market now i'veactually owned

to adam powered devices in the past andthey left a lot to be desired i had any pc and most recently i had adell inspiron duo now my year has been a very busy yearand i haven't published a lot of my videos that dell inspiron duo is one of thevideos or series of videos that i never published but i will publish it when time permitsin short that device was a disaster it was wayunderpowered i love the form factor of it with thescreen actually somersaults within

the basil but after having that device iswore off atom processors but i was lowered back by this device because the bay trailatom processors are supposedly so much more usable than theirpredecessors this tablets: slash netbook has 2 gigabytesof ddr3 memory it has 64 gigabytes have solid statestorage on it you can get supposedly a 32 gigabyteversion but i haven't seen that availableanywhere it has a ten-point one inch screen

and the kicker is is that has supposedly11 hours of battery life so i have highhopes for this device now i got it from amazonfor about three hundred and fifty dollars shipped now this device goes for $399 dollars unfortunately amazon is sold out but if you look on amazon page there's athird party selling this device for 439 dollars right now so somebody's trying to make a little extramoney during shortage here

now this device came out on october 18 today is october 28 so i gotta about tendays later i actually pre-ordered it but i pre-ordered it late so the stock was gobbled up by thepeople who had actually gotten there first but i was fortunateenough to actually get this device so anyway the msrp on this is 399dollars again i gotta for 349 dollars onlybecause i got an amazon credit card and theyactually gave me fifty dollars for just signing up for

so that's a great deal so i think i vhammered on enough let's open a sling up may grab my trustycar here that my cat dropped let's get this thing opennow normally amazon ships to me locally on the eastcoast united states but since there is a shortage on thisthey had the fed ex this from california the alright skits paper full of box so this is actually back ina box it says seuss industry's most complete carepackage you get one year international

warranty 0 bright dot guarantee so no dead pixels two-way free standard shipping and 24hours a day seven days a week technical support so stuff right here seuss transformerbook t-100 now if you're familiar withseuss's transformer line you know that it'sbasically a tablet device that clicks into a keyboard dock iactually did a full review and unboxing on the a sissy pad transformer primewhich was

a an android tablet and it was a greatdevice but this one is actually a windowsdevice obviously as you can see here has windows 8.1 so let's get this thing open here graham color again break the seal books open this up for the first time so here we go the main event here the aces transformerbook again intel quad core processoratom-based bay trail

it has an ips screen so you have 178degree viewing angles honest it has a usb 3.0 port on it again hasthat detachable i'll keyboard to it all-day battery lifesupposedly 11 hours which is really cool and it ships with office microsoftoffice home and student 2013 was for that to the side and take a look at the doc itself now this is very similar to the he padtransformer book doc in the way it looks the onlydifference is that this device here is it doesn't have a battery in it it'sjust a keyboard

and then i guess there's a usb port onhere as well on the side but we'll get to that second was putthat to the side and we'll see what else is in the box here we've got some documentation and then and office license product key which ican show you but it's there here is a usb cord here and here's is the wall clock here it's got your 6 branding their 3 plugin the usb typical wall plug

and i think that's pretty much it that'severything in the box so let's start with keyboard here let'sget this plastic of here and try and do it police destructivewhere possibly can because this will find its way on mebaby one day prolly not today or tomorrow maybe nextyear maybe the year after depends how muchlike it anyway the first thing is the feel of it you have a texture on the front sortalike a brushed aluminum texture i believe everything is plastic thoughyou have

hdmi bringing over here you have intelinside branding and of course your energy star branding as well you track down here which is clickableat the bottom your to areas down here we have a rightto left mouse click you have a little bit over rubber bumperthere so when you close a device unitedscratching you also have an sides here two little ones there and then you have your keyboard here wasfeeling it feels to type on it not so bad the keysare

small in height and as i can see here the shift key is pretty small andgenerally i hate small shift keys but we'll seehow that works in practice when i use skype saidu touch type basically a never look at thekeyboard when i hit the shift key sometimes a hit the up air okay but we'll see howthat works out again in practice again like i said looks like it's on allplastic construction it is a so that the gun metal gray again withyour brushed aluminum

texture here you can actually feel it okhere is the mechanism were the tablet actually hooks in you have to guide areas there and thenthe actual dock connector there this one here is torelease the tablet now again this keyboard doesnot have a battery in it just keyboard and a usb poor here which is here usb 3.0 port here other than that there's nothing on theleft nothing on front nothing on the rates and the back ofcourse you have here

hinge mechanism here on the bottom ofthe device it's sort of a hour somewhat overrubberized feel to it your windows a branding their and thenyou have your for river ice he very simple next up we have the tabletitself so let's get this out of the plastichere okay so here's the device itself looksreally nice you have your pursues branding up here you have a 1.2megapixel webcam here it's only for facing thereis no rear-facing camera on this device now this is a tener .1 inch ips panel

the resolution is 1366 by 768 again it runs windows 8.1 and has to delight so ddr3 memory nose is a fall windows devices is not a windows rtdevice there's an x86 processor in here just incase you're not familiar with what an atom processor is you get a 64 gigabytes internal storage and then pursues offers web storage andremember exactly how much that is but they do offer free storage with thepurchase this device

it supports 802 dodi levin a g and an wifi and it has bluetooth 4.0 it as a 31 what hour battery againsupposedly up to 11 hours and this tablet weighs 1.2 pounds with the doc it weighs 2.4 pounds the dimensions are ten-pointfour-inches' by 6.7 inches and the thickness is point 93 inches so if i had to i could palmthis device easily it's a good size if you watch myprevious video on the windows surface rt

tablet i did say that working on that deviceover long periods of time would be cramped some going to expectthe same out at this device the only difference is i'm gonna expectthis device to be much more responsive and it has forwindows on it and of course that's a plus because youcan run olive your legacy ap sign so let's take a quick tour around thisdevice as you saw the front at for a nice will fire it up in a secondon the bottom is basically just your connection

area here see every dock connector theiryou have your to guiding points there and that's wherethe base actually locks into the tablet here on the right side you see that you haveyour headphone jack you have a micro hdmi and micro usb port you also have a micro sd card slot inthere our top there's nothing ashes a mic uphere i take that back is mike there and thenit looks like there's a power button up here with an led light

next to it on the left to the device you have what looks like a lock buttonof some sort and man you up and down volume rocker the back in the device is very glossy and you have your asus branding here andi don't know if you can make it out but it is a very metallic looking back and if you look close enough you can seethe concentric circles which has become masseuses trademark onthe back to their devices they also have a sticker down here forsec information

and the back feels feels like plastic as you expect and then on the back hereyou have growth you can see that but there's 1xstereo speaker and here's the other stereo speaker so it'll be interesting to see how loudthis device gets now of course you can use this device asyou wish is a tablet and then if you want to use the keyboard the doc or even use the usb 3.0 port this docket right in here

mary yeah locked in a course that buttonworley said and then close it down and it looks like a netbook and that'swhat looks like from the side once clamshell with the keyboard dock connected so it's ok this thing up and interestingly when you do open thedevice on the hinge which has doesn't have anyrubber ice heat on it but it does have this law

feet areas here it actually moves a keyword up a little bit sarcasmor slant and this by the way is as open as thevice gets which should be sufficient are as youcan see the device did not come with the charge on it so i'm charging it up rightnow through the micro usb port that's amicro usb 2.0 port now just a quick correction before youfire the sub this is the power button up top butbelow the volume rocker is actually a windows key it's not a lock it's awindows key

are you also have a here on the keyboardcourse you always have a windows key on a windows desktop or laptop so thatwe can get your start menu as well so anyway or loss center here because mycourt isn't reaching too far but let's hope that it has another the charge thati can fire the sup so see what it looks like for the veryfirst time there we go its the the by

asus 10 transformer tablet

hi! transformer book is an hybrid, two products in one. i mean, display can be either detached and used like a tablet, or connected and used like a laptop, a typical 10-inch netbook. it's the first, over all, with the intel bay trail processor matched with this kind of screen, it's available in italy at a very competitive price: 349 euros, with 32 gb of space, windows 8 office, complete -- not the trial version -- and this great keyboard. keyboard is not just like those of the latest android tablets by asus,

with a built-in battery...there's nothing here, only keyboard, touchpad and usb 3.0 port on the side. though, on this transformer book t100 asus improved the hinge, there's a huge hinge here... most part is metallic, with a button to open/close the two tabs, so the connection is totally stable. you can hold the tablet this way, and pull and it doesn't detach until you don't push the button... that's a big thing for such a cheap and versatile device.

build quality is good, even though it's not a top-level tablet, as we'll see then. but here, besides the metallic hinge, we have a solid keyboard, it doesn't flex in the center... all things considered, the most important things are well-made. but the real strong points of transformer book t100 are performance and battery life. forget what happened with the old atom, with previous netbooks... here we have a quad core processor, 1.3 -- 1.8 ghz, 2 gb ram, a pretty fast emmc disk,

and all that makes it a good laptop to use as the only one at home. multitasking performance is somethingyou've never seen in atom processors, full hd playback is great, even with heavier videos, powered by intel hd graphic card originated from the core ivy bridge of the previous generation of ultrabooks which allows to run recent games... moreover transformer book has the micro hdmi here on the side, so it can be connected to a larger screen and replace the main computer... the whole with a large battery life.

in my tests, transformer book lasted more than 10 hours, with wi-fi on, full brightness -- you'll have to keep the screen at full brightness almost always 'cause the display is not so good from this point of view -- however, 10 hours is a great result, obtained thanks to the intel bay trail processor and a large battery, less than 5000 mah but good enough to use the tablet for the whole day, making it similar to some android models. now, maybe you're wondering:

how could asus put all these cool features in such a cheap device? well, asus saved money on materials. build quality is good, but we can't say the same for the plastic parts... they're all low-level. the rear is glossy and really sensitive to fingerprints... on the lower edge there are these holes for the dock, very ugly... the edges aren't smooth.. the keyboard, which is better than the tablet itself, solid and matte, has this small and noisy touchpad though, just one usb port...

it has rubber feet on the base but plastic feet on the hinge, very uncomfortable, they make the tablet slip while using it... so if you use it on an inclined surface, they just slip... then, the ports are too much closeone to each other, sometimes it's difficult to use hdmi and otg at the same time. the micro sd slot sticks out a little... well, there are some compromises you have to make if you want to enjoy the main features of this transformer book t100, with its battery life, performance and price.

as for the rest, i want to reassure you about the quality of the screen, 1366x768 px, the pixel density is good, brightness is not so high so it'd be useful to keep it always at 100%. the volume of the two rear loudspeakers is good, they're small but have a nice sound and don't crackle even at high volume levels. we have wi-di miracast and wi-fi dual band with bluetooth... so you can connect it to a tv just using its miracast dongle, available in italy for a short time now.

and most of all this tablet, compared to other bay trail i'm testing, doesn't heat up even if overloaded... the keyboard stays cold too, it doesn't have hardware inside after all. and it's great, maybe while travelling, to have a device with a stable temperature, very comfortable. windows 8.1 cuts a fine figure as well, with office 2013 perfectly usable on this screen size. it takes 8-10 seconds to start, and just 1 second to restart after standby from this point of view it's every bit as good as other more expensive netbooks.

well, transformer book t100 is totally a recommended product, i couldn't find a real reason to advise against it. you'll play it safe if you want to buy it either for you or to make a present. you'll find more info on transformer book t100 in the complete review, there are a few more technical considerations, benchmarks and such. please visit eeevolution.it bye!

asus 10 tablets

hi and welcome to the video. you’re lookingat android on a tablet pc. the android operating system is google’s operating system andit’s recently been evolved to work much more smoothly on tablet pcs. now in this videowe’re going to look at the very basics of using android on a tablet pc.so first up, this is the lock screen and you’ll see a lock icon here. now if i press on thatand hold down, i’m on the touch screen and i drag it across to this lock, that is unlocked,it will automatically snap to it and when i release and get’s me straight into thetablet pc. you may have noticed that there was a camera icon also there, which we’lllook at in a separate video on how you can access directly to the camera application.so this is the android central home screen.

now i’m just going to quickly show you howyou can change the wallpapers here because then that will make it a bit easier for youto see as i’m navigating android. so i’ve just pressed and held down on themain home screen here and i’ve got an option to choose wallpaper from a gallery, photo, live wallpaper or standard wallpaper. now if i click on standard wallpaper, i can navigateto different kinds of wallpapers and when we’re talking about wallpapers here, we’retalking basically about the background and the colors that you can use. now there’sa few different options here, if i set one as my wallpaper here, this is just a kindof countryside scene. i’m actually going to navigate to the live wallpapers as theseare a bit more interesting for higher-end

pcs. so let’s take one and have a look atit, it’s kind of like a moving spiral-type effect. and that works quite nicely to beable to show you android. now the operating system itself it's alreadymade up to start off with five home screens. so along the top here you can notice fivedots in a row and the middle dot currently has a box around it. so that’s the centralhome screen. now you have five home screens and if i navigate left you can see that thebox moves along one and we get into a different home screen. and here i’m navigating tothe left, i get another box moving across, and i’m actually at the far end here soif i try to navigate further that way, it’s not allowing me to do so. if i navigate backto the central home screen and then go to

the right, now you can see i’m accessingother types of home screens here. and again, the far right, you’ve got the box aroundthat far right dot, and then we’re back here.so, if i go to the central one here—and i’ll just show you around some of the iconsand what’s available on the screen here—so you’ve got a kind of a google logo at thetop here at the top here with a little microphone next to it, and that google there will allowyou to click and immediately navigate to a google search on the web and also some previoussearches. i’m going to jump back to the home screen and i’ll show you how i didthat in just a moment. the little icon here which shows a kind ofmicrophone allows you to actually speak into

the microphone of the tablet pc and navigatein that way, rather than typing something here. on the far right here we have six boxesin two sets of three. so if i click on that, that actually navigates you straight to yourkind of apps screen. it lists all your applications you have available to you. you can also getwidgets from here, which are kind of little small widgets that you can put on those homescreens where you can quickly access information. now i’m going to go back again to that homescreen and there’s a little widget i’ve got set up here that actually shows you locationand weather. over here, we can see the date and also the number of emails that i’vegot outstanding in my inbox. now further down here we’ve got a few otherbuttons so this is something i tapped on slightly

earlier. so we’ve got a back button herewhich allows us to go back to whatever you’ve previously accessed. you’ve also got thehome button, which always brings you back to this main central home screen. so for example,if i’m in the far home screen and i tap that, we go back to the central one. if i’min the applications and the widgets and i want to get back to that home screen, i justpress that. so that’s just a quick and easy way to always find you way back to this centralhome screen. now also here we have a kind of a third iconwhich is kind of like a few boxes on top of each other, which show you the kind of openapps at that stage. if you’ve got a number of apps open, this is a quick and easy wayto navigate to them. so i previously was doing

a search, so that’s available to me. i waslooking at settings and stuff like that, so that’s available to me. similarly if i openedan application, let’s say i went to the android market, let’s go back to the homeand you can see that’s now available within this and these are pretty easy to open andclose and i’ll show you that in a later video.so that’s those kind of software buttons there, but also down at the bottom you’vegot a number of short cuts. now currently here i’ve got a browser and the youtubeapplication, the camera application, gallery application, a note taking application thatcomes with this asus tablet, a music application, the android market and also gmail. and thesekind kinds of things—and you’ll notice

them on other home screens—are just quickways of jumping to applications within your tablet.now you’ll notice i’ve got a number of widgets already set up, this is a bookmarkswidget, and you can actually configure some of these by holding down on them to be actuallyslightly smaller, slightly bigger, but i’ll go into more detail on that in a separatevideo. and finally down at the bottom here, we havethe kind of notification area and the settings where you can see settings such as if you’redownloading applications, new email, etc. now i won’t go into this in too much detailbut there’s much more information here for a separate video.now one other thing for finding your way around

this tablet is that it reorientates itself.now currently i’ve actually been into the settings and i’ve changed the settings sothat the auto-rotate screen is on. and what this allows you to do is to rotate the screenaround and it reorientates itself to the portrait or landscape mode you’re in at that stage.now if you don’t like that and you actually want it so you have a bit more consistencyand that it sticks in the orientation that you like, if you jump to the settings—andagain i’ll show you this in a bit more detail separately—you can actually turn off thatauto-rotate screen by going into the display element. you may well come into this on thewi-fi side of things, that’s usually the default thing that happens when you get intosettings. if you click down onto display,

you find auto-rotate screen—there’s alittle tick next to that—let’s untick that so it disappears. now, when we go backto the home screen, if we actually rotate doesn’t reorientitates itself. so let’spop that back again and that will work smoothly. other ways to navigate this tablet—and i’vebeen showing you some of those as i’ve been going along—are a number of different sortof things you can do. now, you’ve got a single tap, which effectively allows you toselect a desired item, such as activating an application. so say, for example, a singletap, tap on the youtube application and it opens. tap on the home button and it navigatesyou straight back to that. so a single tap is just for selecting something.now you can also long press. i showed you

this originally when i was selecting wallpapers.long press basically means tapping on the screen and holding down, and in that case, some wallpaper came out of that—and i’m just tapping to get out of that kind of mini-menuthere – but similarly, a good thing with a long tap, particularly on android you canuse it to configure those home screens and put new short cuts on them. so say, for example,i’ve got an amazon kindle application here. if i long tap and hold on that, and i holdit down i can now drag it to one of the home screens. you’ll notice that as i drag itand push it to a new home screen it drops there. and again, if i wanted to change thekind of configuration of how i’ve set this up, i can literally tap on something, holdit down and drag it here. so it’s a drag-and-drop

type functionality. so that’s long pressing.now another option you have is pinching. now pinching is using a couple of fingers to zoomin and out of photos or web pages etc. so let’s take a very simple picture i tookof just a plant here. you can zoom in very easily, push two fingers away from each otheror zoom back in again by using that pinch motion. and now i’ll zip back to the homescreen. the finally one is kind of like flipping, where you can just flip between screens with just a single swipe type motion with yourfinger. one other input method is actually using thesoftware keyboard. so say, for example, you can just type something in. now this is thegoogle search that i was showing you earlier

on. say i wanted to jump to the yahoo homepage—let’s do that—that’s yahoo mail, you can just type it in using that keyboardthat comes up, and it’s quite easy to type, just as you’d expect to get with any typeof qwerty keyboard that you’d be used to typing with just like a physical keyboard.so that’s it in terms of getting around the tablet. so those are the kind of basicsand in future videos we’ll have a look at detail and help you find your way around yourandroid tablet pc.
