Lord of War - Movie Review
I recently saw The Lord of War starring Nicholas Cage. It was quite good. Explosions, gun fire, political implications, mafia, terrorists, Russians, and Jews. Something for everyone.
*---------Caution: Plot Spoilers Ahead--------*
It starts off with a scene that follows a bullet around, from the time it is made, to the time it is shot into a Child Soldiers head. Not the prettiest picture, but it sets the scene for the rest of the movie.
The movie is based around Yuri Orlov, a restaurant owners son turned gun runner. After making millions by selling stolen Soviet weaponry (mostly AK-47s), he is tracked down by an American Agent, Jack Vallentine. But his morals are no match for Orlov's skills in bribery and forgery.
A quote from the movie sums it up very well: 'The first and most important rule of gun-running is: never get shot with your own merchandise.' Unfortuantly he does get shot once, but that is fairly early on and he recovers.
The movie also revolves around Orlov's brother, Vitaly. He starts off with Yuri, but ends up addicted to cocaine. After his recovery he is killed trying to stop a massacre. By destroying some of his own mercandise Vitaly tries to do the right thing but is killed in return.
On the whole Lord of War is definetly worth the price of a movie ticket.

Good to watch, but not exceptional.
No, it wasn't the best movie ever made, but it was entertaining.
