Yesterday was Armistice Day, and I would like to take this opportunity to pay my respects to those who fought and died in not only World War 1, but in all wars, to help protect what we hold dear.
Australians have been at the forfront of most of the major battles in the modern age:
They were there at Gallipoli, they were there at the Somme.
They were at Tobruk, they were at el alamian.
They were on the Kokoda Trail, they were on the Coral Sea.
They were in Vietnam, they were in Peacekeeping missions all over the world.
And for these things, I thank you...
I would also like to thank my school, which stopped classes at the 11th minute of the 11th hour, to commemorate these soldiers, these heroes. If youth learn to respect those who died for what they believed in, then the future is looking bright.
